Ophthalmic Aide

Ophthalmic Aide (Ophthalmology) *Possible Perm Position: Ophthalmic Aide ASAP-Indef Temp to perm for the right person but no guarantees low to mid 30K 635 West 165th Street Francesca Savia M-F 9-5 Reporting to the site manager and physicians in the practice, the ophthalmic aide is responsible to: Assist provider with patient flow, bringing patients in and out of exam lanes and in and out of exam chairs. Escort patients to testing, waiting area, surgery scheduling or front desk check-out. Stock and clean exam areas as necessary. Ensure patient flow is smooth and efficient. Ensure that all testing previously ordered has been completed prior to escorting patient into the exam lane. If tests have been completed and require a review/interpretation, bring tests up on computer. Ensure that all completed tests have been circled on the encounter form. Assist in lasers, injections and other in-lane procedures under the direction of the physician. Retrieve samples and medications for provider as directed. Provide patient education as directed by the provider. Check status of patients in the testing process as requested by the provider. Inform provider of add-on and no-show patients on the days schedule. Alert site manager and/or lead technician of any problems/issues impacting patient flow. Rotate between sites. Conforms to all applicable HIPAA, Billing Compliance, and safety guidelines. Integrity and Credibility Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Associates degree preferred but not required 0-3 years of related experience Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent customer service skills Willingness to travel Ability to act independently Knowledge of basic medical terminology Preferred Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree in related field Experience in a medical office setting Knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy and physiology Bilingual (Spanish, Chinese or Russian)…. Salary: $18/HR
