SUMMARY
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform patient care under the physician's/nurse's direct supervision. The candidate will have dual reporting duties to the Site Manager for administrative functions and the Clinical Nurse Director for clinical related functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Medical Practice/Clinical:
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures and depmtment specific therapies
- Manage a smooth office flow by assessing and anticipating physician schedules and using clinical space effectively
- Take patient histories, vital signs and record information in EMR system
- Prepare patients for procedures. Included but not limited to biopsies, pap smears, IUD insertion and removal, colposcopies and LEEPs
- Perfonn phlebotomy duties and point of care tests such as urinalysis, glucose monitoring and pregnancy tests
- Prepare, label and process collected specimens, and ensure timely delivery of specimens to appropriate designation
- Identify patients using at least two identifiers
- Maintain appropriate lab logs during sessions
- Enter orders in CROWN as required
- Clean and maintain examination and treatment rooms daily
- Manage equipment and supply inventory, including the routine review and removal of expired medical supplies
- Process, sterilize and organize instrnments daily
- Notify physicians and nurses of emergencies and perform first aid RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative/Data Entry
- Manage and track patient flow from arrival until exam room departure using EMR system, including welcoming and informing patients of any delays
- Serve as a liaison between physicians and other individuals such as patients
- Prepare and maintain medical charts
- Copy and mail requests for medical records ensuring HIPAA compliance RESPONSIBILITIES: General
- Function as a team member, including providing backup coverage to other medical assistants in the practice
- Maintain professional demeanor at all times with patients, physicians and coworkers
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by physicians
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations and office safety compliance guidelines
- Comply with all hospital, department and division policies and procedures

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- O I years of OB/GYN experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Display a positive attitude, high level of energy and commitment to providing excellent customer service Assigned Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Varies)
Salary: $18-20/HR
