Medical Biller for Department of Ophthalmology – Temporary for now…if it does lead to a staff position, salary would be in the $36K range. Hours: 9am to 5pm or 9:30am to 4:30pm. Under the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager Collect all of the data provided on a patient and use it to submit claims for reimbursement. Day-to-day responsibilities vary but often include: • Collecting the information required to create a claim • Working directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, CRO and patient to get a claim processed and paid • Reviewing and appealing unpaid and denied claims • Handling collections on unpaid accounts • Working edits, reports as assigned • Answering patients’ billing questions • Other tasks as needed Qualifications and Experience: • High School Diploma or Equivalency • 1-2 years experience in medical billing • Knowledge of Microsoft Office • Knowledge of medical terminology • Knowledge of medical billing • Knowledge of IDX Preferred….. Salary: 18 Dollars an hour
