Senior Clerk (Anatomic Pathology). The candidate must have the following experience: • Triage routine and non-routine patient specimens including sorting and organizing specimen containers. • File, track, retrieve, and transport items including but not limited to: slides, blocks, requisitions, reports and specimens throughout the medical center. • 70% – Patient registration, computer accessioning/data entry into laboratory information system, assigning case numbers, sorting by case type and labeling of patient specimen containers. • 25% – Answering telephones, light typing, photocopying, sorting mail. Retrieving information form laboratory computer system. • 5% – Other related duties as assigned. • Typing 30 – 35 wpm preferred • Medical terminology is required • Knowledge of Co-path, Word, and Excel preferred • Knowledge of billing fee codes (CPT) and ICD codes preferred. • Bachelor’s degree desirable • Ability to work independently and accurately a must due to the nature of the work and consequences of incorrect data entry. • Excellent communication skills a must.
