• Ensure Claims Department is staffed, organized and run efficiently in alignment with the Company’s priorities
• Oversee the implementation of a new claims process and continuously identify and initiate process improvements
• Manage the day-to-day operation of the claims function including overseeing a small claims staff
• Review claim notices and analyze contracts to ensure coverage and ensure proper reserves are held by the Company
• Evaluate exposures, liability, and damages and correlate same to the Company’s ultimate exposure to determine if additional case reserves are warranted•
• Handle and track high-value and complex claims
• Assist the legal staff with oversight of all claims litigation
• Work closely with Underwriters, Actuarial, Finance, and Senior Management to communicate claim developments and emerging claims trends
• Ensure accurate quarterly reports are provided to Senior Management in an efficient manner
• Participate in the Company’s quarterly actuarial and underwriting review of accounts, providing claims input as needed
• Develop an audit schedule in consultation with Senior Management and Underwriters
• Perform and oversee outside firms audits of the Company’s cedents independently and ensure comprehensive cl caims audit reports are provided to Underwriters and Senior Management
10+ years’ experience handling a variety of insurance or reinsurance claims
Bachelor’s Degree
